Spring is here and it looks wonderful. All around the campus of AIS the flowers are growing, birds are chirping, and the sun is shining. This is something quite extraordinary for the Belgian weather since the weather often does not cooperate with the norm. Over the last couple of years spring has arrived late to AIS; the latest being on May 19th. The consensus of the students is that spring gives AIS a much better and welcoming
feeling. One student said “The other day I just had to stop and take a picture of this one beautiful flower” (pictured right). Another student added “Just standing there by itself with the sun shining on it, how could [they] not take a picture of the flower.” Looking around the campus myself I found many other picturesque scenes (pictured below in collage). Lush green grass and the vibrant tree colours around campus are giving everything a happy feeling. A ninth-grade student, Alexander Rypma, said “The sunny weather and bright colours make me enjoy learning more!” Being a fellow student I agree with this thought. When it’s rainy and cold, having to get up early in the morning and go to school gives you a very pessimistic approach to the day. Now, when you get up and see the sun shining it gives the whole day a nice and welcoming feeling. Fingers crossed the good weather will stick around for longer this year.
